One of my favourite things to do on the weekend is experiment with new recipes.
Whether it’s cooking weekend/weekday meals, creating fun appetizers for social gatherings or, baking ‘til my heart’s content, you name it, I’ll give it a go.
On occasion, the recipes (especially new ones) will call for ingredients that may not be an everyday staple in my kitchen cupboard, for example, ground cardamom used to flavour meats, poultry and curries. BTW, I hear it’s also great to use to add a touch of warmth to cakes, pastries, breads and even, coffee.
This is one of the many reasons why I loooove Bulk Barn. Instead of purchasing a full container of a specific spice or ingredient (that I may or may not like), I can purchase as much or as little of it as needed which is perfect for the experimental chef and baker in me.
P.S. I guess I need to be honest here: a trip to the Bulk Barn often includes me leaving with a sweet treat to enjoy on the ride home . . . like a half a scoop or perhaps even a full scoop of chocolate macaroons, one of my all-time favourite chocolate treats.
Go ahead, the next time you visit Bulk Barn, treat yourself, your secret is safe with me.
