Maybe I’m a little biased, but October is the best month to go to the movies. The weather is starting to get a little chilly, so heading somewhere indoors where it’s a little warmer is very inviting. Then of course the movie selection is simply the best. From fun family comedies to spooky Halloween horrors, there is something for everyone to see!
For the kids looking to get a little Halloween fun, take them to see “Goosebumps 2”, where Halloween comes to life in a brand-new comedy adventure based on R.L. Stine’s 400-million-selling series of books (which happened to be my favourite things to read as a kid…yes I dated myself there…) or “The House With a Clock in Its Walls”, the magical adventure of 10-year-old Lewis who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart.
Looking to get spooked? The classic horror film “Halloween” gets a long-awaited sequel that follows the same characters from the original 40 years later when the masked figure Michael Myers returns to his hometown.
And, if you’re not looking for any Halloween frights, settle into the fabulous duo of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in “A Star is Born” that deals with love, loss, relationships, fame . . . And with a stunning soundtrack to match! Or, unleash your inner comic book lover and check out “Venom”, as Eddie Brock becomes the host for an alien symbiote which is promised to be twisted, dark and unpredictable!
So grab your popcorn, movie buddy and head into Cineplex at Westshore, meet you in the lobby!
