Back to School Starts Now

Okay so there’s still a month left of summer vacation, but there’s no time like the present to start preparing for the bustling back to school season. Whether your little ones are heading to preschool, getting ready to embrace elementary, or they’re moving on up to high school, we’re sharing a few ideas to get kiddos of all ages excited and prepared to head back to class.

Get a backpack that’s properly fitted

We hate to say it but all backpacks are not created equally. While a cute and fun bag with trendy characters might catch your attention, it can also be causing back problems even in your little scholars. Aim to fit the bag to the length of your little one’s torso and choose a bag with plenty of pockets to evenly distribute books, school supplies, and of course snacks. Check for ample padding on the shoulder straps and look for adjustable straps that allow you to readjust the fit as your child grows throughout the year. You’ll find plenty of options at Bentley and Atmosphere to suit any style and budget.

Hit up end of season sales

There’s never a bad time to pop into Westshore but end of season sales make shopping for back to school that much better. Plan ahead for fall and stock up on things like graphic tees, hoodies, and denim and get ready to fall in love with fabulous (and on sale) fashion picks. We suggest The Gap and Boathouse for trendy pieces for kids and teens alike.

Share your back-to-school posts safely

Back to school is always an exciting time and First Day of School pictures are a must. But before you post it to Facebook or throw it up on Instagram stories take a few minutes to make sure you’re sharing your posts safely. Avoid disclosing the name of your kiddo’s school or teacher, limit the personal information visible (skip posing in front of your house where someone can see the address), and of course, respect your little one’s privacy—if they ask you not to share, then respect their wishes and keep your pics private.

Happy shopping and get ready to make the 2022/2023 school year the best one yet.
