Celebrating Nurses

May 12th is International Nurses Day and it’s the perfect opportunity to thank nurses for the work that they do, celebrate with cute scrubs, and learn more about a very important profession.

International Nurses Day is celebrated each year on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Widely recognized as the founder of modern nursing, she helped to define the profession as we know it today, establishing the first professional training school for nurses in 1860.

While not all nurses wear scrubs, many do, and a cute set of scrubs is the perfect way to celebrate. Scrubs come in a variety of colours to suit anyone’s personal taste (and requirements of the facility they work in) and sense of style and often times feature fun prints or designs that are sure to help uplift a patient’s spirits.

Don’t forget the shoes! When it comes to long shifts on your feet, the right shoes and socks matter. Look for something comfortable and supportive and consider investing in insoles to get the perfect fit for happy feet.

When in doubt, add accessories—even for work. A comfortable scrunchie or soft headband is the perfect finishing touch for scrubs to keep your hair up and out of the way, and let’s not forget a reusable water bottle and trendy lunch bag to keep snacks (and a few treats) on hand.

Wherever you work and whatever you do in your role as a nurse, we admire what you do and wish you a happy and rewarding International Nurses Day!
