6 Things to Add to Your Easter Basket—That Aren’t Chocolate or Candy

Easter is just around the corner, Langford, and that means it’s time to start thinking about filling Easter baskets. While chocolate bunnies, jellybeans, and marshmallow peeps are typical picks, there’s no rule saying you have to include them. Whether you’re looking for something a little healthier, more unique, or a fun way to encourage creativity, here are six things to add to your Easter Basket that aren’t chocolate or candy.

A new board game

One of the best ways to create a memorable Easter basket is to include a game everyone can play. For younger kiddos try a classic like Guess Who, Sorry, or Trouble. If you’ve got tweens and teens on your list, try something like charades, Taboo, or a poker set you can use at your next game night.

Books

Books are an excellent alternative to candy in an Easter basket and there’s no shortage of options to choose from. Consider a cute Easter-themed picture book for little ones, the latest in teen fiction for older kids, or a trendy autobiography for adults. Double down and add a cool colouring book or journal to your basket, too.

Craft supplies

Encourage creativity this Easter with new craft supplies. Consider items like coloured markers, crayons, construction paper, and stickers to let kiddos design their own creation, or choose pre-made craft kits with a set project in mind.

Toiletries

Believe it or not, toiletries can be a fun and practical thing to add to an Easter basket, especially for tween and teens. Bath bombs, soap, nail polish, lip balm, hair ties, and deodorant are all great picks that are sure to be a hit. Try travel size products for an extra fun and cutesy addition

Easter-themed apparel

While Easter is in the heart of Spring, it can still be wet and chilly. That’s why cozy socks and pjs, a new hoodie, rainboots, and even an umbrella can all be a welcomed addition to an Easter basket. Keep things on brand with pastel colours, floral prints or other Easter imagery like bunnies and ducks.

Gift cards

In a rush? Gift cards are a quick and easy choice to add to an Easter basket. Kids can feel grown up hitting the mall with their own gift cards, and tween and teens that can be difficult to buy for get exactly what they want. Consider gifting an experience like a movie or game night.
