Back-to-School Trends to Watch
Believe it or not, back-to-school season is almost here. Curious how to make the most of your back-to-school shopping trip? Keep reading for our list of back-to-school trends to watch.
Tech that teaches
It’s no surprise that technology is a big part of learning. And while it might seem like students are glued to screens and smartphones, there are tons of beneficial ways to use technology to study, too. Download helpful study apps in the app store, search online quizzes and review guides that make test prep a breeze, and look for digital calendars that make it easier to stay organized. Ready for a device upgrade? Check out tablets e-notebooks that make it easier to review material (and save paper) and snag an Airtag to keep track of your kids (and their backpacks) on the go. Worried about screentime? Now is also the perfect time to set limits and parental locks on your little one’s devices and establish a routine for the fall.
Sustainable school supplies
Eco-conscious choices are becoming increasingly common and there are plenty of options when it comes to school supplies. Look for items like refillable pens, recycled paper products, and reusable lunch containers and water bottles to reduce your environmental impact. Last year’s supplies still have some life left? Consider using what you already have on hand or waiting until later in the school year to replace materials as needed.
Functionable fashion
We love a cute back-to-school outfit, but we also appreciate comfort. If you’re shopping for new clothes for the school year, consider pieces that are versatile and easy to mix-and-match to simplify early mornings. Opt for light layers that make it easy to adapt to changing fall weather and be sure to add a raincoat to the mix to stay dry on drizzly days.
Snackable nutrition
Lunchboxes are getting a makeover. With an emphasis on convenience and nutrition, now is the time to start gathering ideas for quick and easy lunches. Look for grab-and-go snacks like cheese strings or yogurt cups for protein, wash and prep fruits and veggies to make it easy to pack for school, and don’t forget a personalized water bottle or travel mug to stay hydrated. Have a kiddo that doesn’t drink much water? Try adding fruit slices or berries to your water for more flavour or add a splash of water enhancers like Mio or Crystal Light. Remember to always read the labels and look for school safe snacks, especially if there are kiddos with severe allergies in the same class.
Whether your kiddos are heading off to kindergarten or getting ready to graduate, with a little planning (and some fun shopping) you’ll be ready for a smooth start in September and a great year ahead.
