Celebrate Our Teachers
Teachers do a lot. They encourage curiosity, celebrate accomplishments, help students through a wide array of challenges, and create spaces where kids can learn and grow. With Teacher’s Day right around the corner on October 6, it’s the perfect time to celebrate our teachers and show a little appreciation with one of these simple, sweet gestures.
Write a thank-you note
A handwritten note is one of the easiest and most meaningful ways to show appreciation. Encourage your child to write a few sentences about something they enjoy about their teacher or a favourite classroom memory or get crafty and have your little one help make and decorate a card.
Bring a little treat
Who doesn’t appreciate a sweet treat during a busy school day? A box of chocolates, coffee or tea from a local spot, or baked goods like muffins and donuts are all popular (and delicious) choices that are sure to be well received.
Give the gift of preparation
Teachers have plenty to keep track of, so practical gifts can be especially useful. Consider classroom basics like colourful pens, whiteboard markers, sticky notes, notebooks, or a desk organizer. For a more one-of-a-kind approach consider personalizing items with their name for an added touch that’s both thoughtful and practical.
Simply say “thank you”
You don’t have to spend money to celebrate Teacher’s Day. A sincere thank-you at drop-off or pick-up can go a long way. Or send a quick email letting a teacher know how much you appreciate the support, encouragement, and care they provide. If your kiddo is involved in sports, music, or other extra-curricular activities, include those teachers or coaches, too.
Celebrate the people who make learning meaningful. Whether it’s a handwritten card, a small gift, or simply a heartfelt thank-you, a little appreciation can make a big impact.
